Dr. (Col.) V Hariharan is a respected and experienced Interventional Cardiologist in New Delhi. He currently holds the title of Senior Consultant - Interventional Cardiology at the Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, where he has been working since January 1996.

Dr. Hariharan studied at the Armed Forces Medical College in Pune for the MBBS degree, which he received in 1969. Overall, he completed 24 years of service in the Army Medical Corps, holding the rank of Colonel at the end of his tenure. He worked as a Medical Specialist in various army hospitals for nine years from 1974 to 1983, including at a postgraduate teaching hospital (he obtained the MD degree in 1976). From 1984 to 1986 he served as Senior Resident in Cardiology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi; he received the DM (Cardiology) postdoctoral degree from AIIMS in 1986.

From Jan 1987 to April 1992 Dr. Hariharan was at the Military Hospital (Cardiothoracic Centre) in Pune, as Consultant Cardiologist. This is a premier cardiac institution, where open heart surgery has been performed since the last two decades or so. Dr. Hariharan was actively involved in non-invasive and invasive cardiology here, and also trained many postgraduate students of the Armed Forces Medical College, as he was appointed as a postgraduate teacher by Pune University.
